|Forces Acting on Blocks of Metal Pushing V-Belt for CVT at Transitional States

Six forces act on blocks of a metal pushing V-belt. In this paper, these forces in transitional state are measured and presented using the same testing and measuring systems described in our previous paper. In the transitional state a speed ratio varies from low to high, or inversely. The experimental results reveal that distributions of four forces at transitional states except for normal and frictional forces between rings and blocks are strongly influenced by change in pitch radius, while all forces are characterized by the fact whether the pulley is driving or driven, in the steady state.
