|Finite Element Analysis for Synchronous Power Transmission of Synchronous Belts

The transmitting force distribution between a synchronous toothed belt and a pulley was analyzed using a nonlinear finite element method. A step by step procedure which had success fully been developed in our previous analytical study for by flat belt drive, was introduced herein. A good agreement between calculated and experimental results for the transmitting force distribution proved that this analytical procedure was also effective for asynchronous power transmission.
